A wide range of thai massage courses and massage workshops are offered by the London Institute of Thai Yoga Massage, ranging from Introductory Days for the complete novice through to advanced post-graduate training. Our pracitioner diploma courses are approved by the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

Thai yoga massage - Introductory days

This is a great opportunity to experience Thai Massage in a fun and relaxed environment with a view to further training. Learn some basic techniques that are ideal to add to your practice, or just use with friends and family at home.

Students will learn to work on one main energy line, a variety of stretches and will also learn therapeutic points used in helping insomnia and headaches.

This one-day Thai yoga massage course is open to complete beginners.

Thai Yoga Massage - Practitioner Diploma (weekday course)

Due to high demand LITYM is now running a practitioner diploma course during the week.  The Traditional Thai massage practitioner course consists of 13 lessons (72 training hours). Each lesson begins with a lecture and practical demonstrations, followed by supervised practice. This is a stimulating and fun learning experience and a unique way to acquire a new skill, as well as a great opportunity for personal development.

At London Institute of Thai Yoga Massage we run practitioner training courses to the highest standards, whilst ensuring there is a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The Thai massage course is certified and accredited to Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), and allows students who successfully complete the course to work professionally. The certificate is recognised by professional indemnity insurers.

At the end of the course students who wish to qualify will be required to do 25 case studies (50 hours), a short written project, a practical exam and a multiple choice paper.

Thai yoga massage - Practitioner Diploma (weekend course)

A practical and theoretical training in the art of Traditional Thai massage, covering all aspects needed to apply an effective full-body Thai massage. On completion of the course students will be able to work with sensitivity and awareness to give a Thai massage in front, side, back and sitting positions.

Thai Yoga Massage - Post-graduate Intermediate Course

This accredited and certified course is invaluable for all practitioners who have a love for, and are serious about Thai yoga massage. The course comprises of 12 days (72 training hours) over 6 weekends. During the course students will learn how to work more intuitively, how to use their listening hand, and to work mindfully throughout their treatments.

They will also learn advanced stretches to apply in front, back, side and sitting positions. These will include stretches to be used during pregnancy, spinal twists and variations for flexible and non-flexible people. Students will gain more confidence in their ability to apply pressure using their feet, knees and elbows. The course is designed to allow students to have more choice in stretches and techniques applied to the body so they can tailor their treatments for the individual. We will also look in more detail at the location of the sen lines including therapeutic points, and will learn self protection techniques. Each lesson begins with a practical demonstration and lecture, followed by supervised practice. Classes are kept small to allow the maximum individual attention from the tutors.

One-day workshops

Hot Herbal compress

Spend the day mixing and blending herbs to make your own hot herbal compresses.  Students will learn how to apply these medicinal poultices to the body, whilst also learning some of the key pressure points to help with common complaints such as headache, insomnia, menstrual problems, knee, back and shoulder pain.  Students will be able to take their compresses home with them to use on family, friends or clients.  This day is open to all body workers who would like to learn a unique, relaxing and nurturing technique to add to their repertoire.



Oil Workshop

This workshop is designed to teach students how to incorporate the use of oils into a Thai massage treatment. It Focuses on the main stress loaded areas of the body such as the back, neck and shoulders.  It is the perfect way to enhance your treatments, release these problem and often stiff areas, whilst also creating a deeply relaxing element to your treatments.

Post graduate workshops

Side position course

A two day workshop designed for qualified students who would like to learn some advanced stretches and techniques to apply to the body in side position.  This workshop is ideal for working on pregnant women and for clients who are uncomfortable lying for long periods on their back.
